Firing Up the Inner Glow

Glide Down the Aisle in Style with Help from Local Salons and Spas.

What is it about her wedding that makes every bride so stunning? Is it the glow of love illuminating her skin? Is it Venus, smiling down and gifting each bride with a one-day reserve of radiant, heavenly perfection?

Right. That's what we might like to believe, but the reality of bridal beauty is far less ethereal. Mother Nature and all of her existential helpers can take only part of the credit; the rest belongs strictly to the earth-bound pros.

The fact is, many brides find themselves so stressed from pondering the minutiae of their big day that the thought of beautifying themselves becomes just a little too daunting. Hair up or down? Skin dewy or matte? And how can you make it down the aisle with those neck muscles tied in knots? The good news is, achieving otherworldly radiance is a burden not to be shouldered alone. Like any task done well, creating beauty is best left to the professionals. And local brides have a wealth of expertise and services to choose from.

Beauty Trends

-Skin. Especially for summer, the sheer, natural, dewy, clean, sometimes even glimmery bridal face is in. However, matte make-up works better with black and white photography.

-Lips. Like the face, the look here is sheer, moist, and soft-toned. Opaque and matte are out.

-Eyes. Liner on the lid may be too dramatic for a bridal look. Try a shimmer on the brow bone to lighten. Give definition to the brows with tinting, shadowing in, or shaping.

-Hair. Loose and romantic is in. This style looks smashing with the sparkly barrettes and pretty headpieces that are making impact this season.
