Tiger Oak Media (www.tigeroak.com) is a multi-dimensional media firm, delivering content to targeted audiences through glossy magazines as well as through branded websites, apps, social media and high-profile events. We’re currently hiring for a full-time Social Media Manager to manage social media for SeattleMag.com, and to drive the overall social media strategy and best practices for all Tiger Oak social media accounts across all websites.
The Social Media Manager should display expert knowledge of all major social networks (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+, and Reddit) and communicate best practices to editorial and business owners via one-on-one and group training sessions and written documentation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with online editorial staff and business owners, the Social Media Manager will be responsible for directly (for SeattleMag.com) and indirectly (for all other Tiger Oak accounts):
- driving traffic through social media
- growing social media followers
- increasing engagement of social media followers
- analyzing and reporting on performance of initiatives across social media channels
To accomplish this, the Social Media Manager will do the following:
- Design and manage a variety of social media campaigns for SeattleMag.com and other Tiger Oak websites, from conception to creative to execution to analytics
- Increase social media following and drives engaged readers to designated properties
- Work closely with each site’s digital editor(s) to improve strategy and effectiveness of social media content
- Train and evangelize best practices for social media across the company, and supervise the quality of our company-wide social media portfolio
- Analyze our social media campaigns and profiles, and test and optimize for greater conversions and reach
- Meet weekly with internal stakeholders to develop and track strategic activities
- Report on activities’ effectiveness and evaluates social media activities of interest to the organization
- Work with online ad sales, online ad operations, and digital editors to define best practices and procedures for posting “sponsored” social media content from our advertisers
- Manage paid media campaigns on social media sites to drive targeted traffic, as needed
The Social Media Manager should be independent, self-starting and thorough, with great attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-4+ years of experience managing social media campaigns or online communities (preferably for content sites), including analytics, moderation and influencer identification
- Experience in digital marketing, online content creation, or digital journalism
- Proven track record of launching successful multi-channel (social, online, offline events) and multi-platform (mobile, tablet) viral campaigns across offline, online and social networks
- Strong project management, strategic planning and writing skills
- Able to communicate clearly and present conceptual creative/technical strategies, trends and metrics
- Able to multi-task, collaborate, and work autonomously, with a great attention to detail
- Self-starter who is comfortable setting goals and achieving them
- Experience with reporting on web analytics and optimizing behavior based on analytics
- Basic knowledge of HTML and Photoshop (or similar photo editing tool)
- Computer savvy, quick-learner and online problem-solver who can easily figure out new technologies online
- Avidly participates in social networks and online communities
- Has an expert understanding of web technologies and social networking sites
- B.S / B.A degree
- Seattle location a plus, but not required (telecommuting OK)
