Craig began his media career as a senior analyst for Cowles Media in 1987, where he reviewed and assessed multiple magazine, newspaper and event acquisition candidates, analyzing financial structure, creating three-year forecasts, and determining ROI on projects and new ventures. In 1992, he launched his own new venture, Minnesota Bride Magazine, whose success quickly spawned other industry-specific products and publications, including the Meetings + Events national chain of titles, along with other lifestyle and business publications. Today, Tiger Oak Media has offices in Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Denver. Craig has also served as adjunct faculty at the University of St. Thomas and used his dual degrees in banking and economics, as well as his MBA from Notre Dame, to teach business classes on topics such as internal communications and company culture. Craig and his wife, Stacy, live in Minneapolis with their two sons.
Marcel has been at the helm of Tiger Oak Media's finances through almost nine years of growth and development. In 2011, he also became an investor in the company. He couples his day-to-day duties of managing a magazine company with his own business, G Force Fulfillment Services, an installation, survey and fulfillment company for large-scale retailers, banks, restaurants and logistics partners.
Jeremy brings with him nearly 20 years of consumer product and media marketing expertise. He started as a retail account sales expert and worked his way up through a variety of media companies, most recently Utne Reader and other Ogden Publications properties, driving sales and managing teams for startup companies and small to mid-size companies launching extensions. In recent years, he has moonlighted as retail director for his wife Carlene’s company, Bedtime Bones. He is a recent board member for the St. Anthony East Neighborhood Association and remains active in the organization.
Matt Kusilek, formerly with Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, has joined Tiger Oak Media as the new Publisher of Minnesota Business magazine. Matt has extensive experience with the Twin Cities business network, having previously worked as an Associate Publisher of Minnesota Law & Politics, as Group Publisher for Computer User Magazine and as an advertising executive with Twin Cities Business magazine. In addition to his many accolades and awards with Thomson Reuters, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to Minnesota Business in the areas of digital marketing and strategy, media sales partnership and business development.
Candice comes to Tiger Oak with 17 years of management experience. Before Tiger Oak most of her experience has been in the telecom industry where she managed in the areas of Public Sector and General Business. Previous in her career she worked at Thomson Reuters. Candice is overseeing the Community Lifestyle Magazines and the MN & WI Bridal magazines. Candice resides in Prior Lake with her husband John and their two daughter’s Sierra and Sophie.
Dianne has more than 30 years of experience in magazine and book publishing. She has worked in both editorial and production capacities on regional and national publications, including The Family Handyman, Black & Decker books, Fins & Feathers Magazine, Catholic Digest, Mother Earth News and Utne Reader. She has a strong track record reducing printing and distribution costs, and streamlining workflows. She joined Tiger Oak Media in 2008, where she oversees the production of more than 25 titles ranging from monthly magazines to annual custom publications. In addition to print responsibilities, her team of six also creates digital editions, newsletters, web materials and collateral projects.
Pat has 10-plus years in the accounting and HR/payroll fields, five of which at Tiger Oak, where she manages the accounting and office coordinator team. Before Tiger Oak, she worked in the truck utilities and book distributing industries. Originally from California, Pat has made Minnesota home for more than 34 years. She and her husband, Jerry, live in St. Paul and have two grown daughters. Outside of work, Pat enjoys gardening, crocheting and voracious reading.
A recent addition to the Tiger Oak Media team, Jim brings 25 years of publishing experience to his role managing all aspects of custom publishing, from editorial creation to advertising sales to production and design. His unique skill set, touching all aspects of media, helps outside groups and organizations create superior content, maximize their exposure and drive media sales.
Sarah Warn has 17 years of online marketing and editorial experience, from building Expedia.com's search engine marketing program to launching her own entertainment websites, which were acquired by MTV Networks in 2006. She subsequently served as the Director of Editorial for multiple sites at MTV before doing consulting work and then joining Tiger Oak to increase the company's efforts to serve readers and advertisers across platforms. Warn is a graduate of Wellesley College and Harvard University, and lives in the Seattle area with her partner Lori.
