SEATTLE BUSINESS HONORS

THE 2012 LEADERS IN HEALTH CARE

SEATTLE (February 24, 2012) — Seattle Business magazine honored 21 of Washington state’s health care innovators, CEOs, hospitals and other organizations at the fourth Leaders in Health Care awards dinner Thursday night (February 23, 2012) at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle.

More than 300 people attended the event, which featured a keynote speech by Dr. John Koster, CEO of Providence Regional Medical Centers. Koster said that medical care today is undergoing a major transformation comparable to the Industrial Revolution. The emergence of electronic medical record systems that link vast networks of hospitals creates for the first time, Koster said, the possibility to transform medical institutions from relatively static institutions to learning organizations that are constantly improving the way they provide medical care.
